Alex was born in Bermuda in 1971, but raised in Weston Super Mare. He studied Optometry at Bradford University and qualified in 1993 with a 2:1 Bsc Hons. Alex is registered with both the UK General Optical Council and the Registration Board of New South Wales, having worked just north of Sydney in the 90's. After moving to Yorkshire Alex opened Alexander Optometrists because he wanted to offer the quality and service that he feels only an independent practice can. Alex married Sam in 1996 and has a son, Joseph. Apart from his family, Alex's two great loves are travel and gastronomy.

Jacqui gained a 2:1 Ba Hons degree in English from Portsmouth University, before deciding to undertake a vocational three-year course to become a dispensing Optician. After previously working for an independent opticians practice in Scotland, Jacqui completed her training at Alexander Optometrists, and after passing her exams first time she qualified in 2006. Jacqui married Duncan, a fast-jet pilot with the RAF, in a castle in the Scottish highlands in 2004. She enjoys holidays in the sun and has a passion for horse riding.

Debbie joined Alexander Optometrists in 2005 having previously worked in technical administration in laboratories. She is relatively new to the field of optics but already has an eye for beautiful glasses; she is continually building up her own collection! Debbie is married to Stephen and has a daughter. Stephen is an ex-member of a band that has played venues including the Hacienda; therefore Debbie shares his love of indie music, and goes to live gigs as often as possible. Her other interests include literature and social history.
